Product Description

Satin spaghetti strap criss-cross back formal dress. Pleated bust-out bodice. 2" rhinestone decor broach that gathers waistline. Wide three stripe with lace up back design. Hidden zipper back. length of Small formal dress from underarm:51 ". 96% Polyester, 4% Spandex. Professional Dry Clean only. Made in USA. I am 5'2" 105(35-25-33) and ordered an XS. Elegant style. The dress is nice because you can adjust the size from above the waist with the back/neck straps. Will work good for small or large chested women. Ordered on a Saturday and it was in my mailbox Thursday. A little light steam got the wrinkles out. LOVE IT AND A GREAT VALUE! Bought this for my 17 yr old daughters prom. The color was beautiful, & a perfect fit for her even tho she's very tiny because of the straps on the back can be adjusted for how big/small you are on top, around waist, etc.

Shipping was very quick.

I only didn't like that they had this packed tightly in a platic bag, it was VERY wrinkled, but it was ok after it hung for a few days.

Fit well because of lace up back and didn't need alterations. Only point to know is that you do need to steam wrinkles in dress when you get it, due to being shipped. Took about an hour to get it just right, because of the puffs in skirt.

Wedding Dress Shopping [ Must-Read ]Tips

Calculate Costs

When calculating your wedding dress budget, don't forget to factor in the cost of your veil and headpiece -- which can run from $50 to $500 -- as well as your shoes, lingerie, and wedding jewelry. Also, keep in mind that almost all gowns need alterations, which will add to the bottom line.

Dress Codes

Many houses of worship consider bare shoulders disrespectful. Ask your officiant about specific body-coverage requirements before you start wedding dress shopping. Or look into a wrap or shawl for the ceremony.

Play Hooky

We know you're busy, but if at all possible take time off during the week to begin your hunt -- you'll get more of the salesperson's time and attention than you would on a busy Saturday.

Ways to Save

Want to save? Avoid ornate, hand-done beading or lacework. Shop sample sales for floor models sold at discounts. Consider a bridesmaid dress in white. Wear your mom's dress. Choose a simple headpiece and veil. Or try browsing through a consignment shop.

Open Your Mind

When you're in the bridal salon, don't eliminate anything at first glance. Even though certain styles work best on certain body types, don't let the "rules" narrow your search too much. It helps to try on all different kinds of dresses, and then to decide which shape and style you look and feel best in. So if the salesperson brings you something she says you must try -- try it, even if you detest the way it looks on the hanger. Many a bride has ended up going ga-ga for a wedding gown the salesperson had to persuade her to try on.

Shop Around

You didn't get engaged on your first date, right? Likewise, you shouldn't buy the first dress you try on. Give yourself all the options and the time to think by shopping more -- and elsewhere -- before you buy.

Sleep On It

Even after you think you've found your wedding gown, take a day to be absolutely sure it's the one for you. Since bridal gowns are custom-made, most salons put a no-return policy in their contracts; if you can get any money back, it probably won't be any more than 50 percent of the cost.

Trust Your Instincts

If you have to be reassured that the dress looks great on you, it's probably not the one. Is this how you pictured yourself looking as a bride? Can you really see yourself walking down the aisle swathed in this gown? If not, take it off and move on.

Take Proper Measures

When you're ready to order your wedding dress, the store will take your measurements: bust, waist, and hips. Each manufacturer has its own measurement chart, and this is what the store will use to determine your size. A knowledgeable store will know how a particular designer's gowns are supposed to fit. Ask to see the sizing chart so you can have a better understanding of the way it works. And make sure the correct size gets ordered, using your largest measurement as a guide. One thing to remember: wedding gowns run small, so don't be alarmed should your final size measurement jump up a number or two.

Focus on the Fit

Know, too, that every wedding dress needs alterations to fit precisely to your frame. When your gown is altered correctly, you should be able to move comfortably with everything staying in place. Alterations can be as simple as taking in the waist and shortening the hem; in more complex alterations, the sleeves may be abbreviated, the bodice taken in, and lace or beads added.

Go Undercover

Bridal designers advise wearing undergarments in a tone close to your skin color. The more similar they are to your coloring, the less likely you'll see them through your dress.

Fit In Fittings

You'll probably have at least two or three dress fittings, which you'll schedule with the store when you purchase your wedding dress; more may be necessary, so leave ample time before the wedding. You should also ask for a written alterations estimate at the time of purchase, since this service is not always included in the cost of your wedding gown. If the store doesn't do its own alterations, ask the salesperson you've been working with to recommend a trusted tailor or seamstress.

Prewedding Poses

If you're planning to sit for a bridal portrait, you'll also want to find out if the store will let you borrow your gown for pictures, then return it to them so they can press your wedding dress so it will look fresh for the big day.

Cover the Bases

Find out exactly how long it will take for your wedding dress to come in, and be sure to pay with a credit card. For such a big purchase, you'll want to be able to dispute a payment just in case something goes wrong.

Test Your Seamstress

Think you've found someone to create your wedding gown? Have her make you another dress -- a shift for work, maybe -- so you can see her work and how you work together before you entrust your wedding dress to her.[ taken from http://wedding.theknot.com/ ]

Before You Shop For Your Wedding Dress

One of the biggest decisions you will face as the big day approaches is choosing the perfect wedding dress. The process of shopping for a wedding dress can be a fabulous adventure, but it can also be stressful and overwhelming--particularly because a bride-to-be often starts shopping for her gown before many other details are determined.

You might have had a clear mental picture of the perfect wedding dress ever since you were five years old. On the other hand, you may have no idea what you are going to wear or feel strange about the idea of wearing white. The important thing is to relax, and remember that there are as many different kinds of dresses out there as there are different kinds of brides.

When to Start Shopping for Your Wedding Dress Give yourself ample time to plan- generally the rule of thumb is that you need to order your gown at least six months before your wedding. So you should ideally start shopping for your gown nine months or more before your wedding. (If you don't have this much time, it's okay, just budget for some rush charges).

Plan Ahead Take a few minutes to think about what you want. It will be helpful when you enter the maze of wedding dresses out there to know what your budget is, any details that are essential (i.e. I must have a full skirt, or my arms must be covered), and an idea of how traditional you want your dress to be. After all, if really a teal pantsuit would work best for you, it's probably not worth your time to sort through racks of flouncy white gowns.

Be Comfortable! On your wedding day, you'll want to look great, but you'll also want to be comfortable- it will be hard to dance and laugh (not to mention posing for all those pictures) if you're tugging your dress up or have boning jutting into your ribs.

First- consider which wedding dress is most appropriate to your day – for example, consider a shorter tea-length or cocktail length dress for a beach wedding. If you're the type who likes to dance with her hands in the air, and anticipates doing the limbo, perhaps a strapless dress is not the one for you. Look for wedding dresses with removable sleeves or straps to give you the widest range of options.

A Dress that Fits Your Body Well Think about your body type and what kinds of dresses generally look good on you. Take a look at what you regularly wear that makes you feel confident and beautiful, and then look for a wedding dress with similar lines. If a friend is making your wedding dress, ensure that you have agreed on a fitting schedule and chances to make adjustments. If you're looking for a bargain at a sample sale, or discount outlet, you should budget money for taking the dress to a good tailor. Many designers will ask for three fittings, and will closely tailor your wedding dress to fit you.

Saving Money on Your Wedding Dress If money is an issue, remember that the most expensive kind of dress is not necessarily the best kind. Many brides find a bridesmaids dress in white or off-white that works perfectly, and is hundreds of dollars cheaper. There are thousands of dresses to be had at sample sales, thrift stores, and ebay. Consider taking pictures from magazines to a friend who sews or seamstress and getting a price quote. If you choose to make your own dress, don't delay. The sooner you finish it, the sooner you'll be able to attend to the many other details of your wedding.

Most of all, remember this is your wedding day. Wear whatever makes you comfortable and feels like you. And have fun shopping for your wedding dress. It should be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. [ taken from http://weddings.about.com/ ]

Engagement Ring Advice for Guys

Before we get started, can I be honest with you? The best way to buy her an engagement ring she'll love is to let her pick it out herself. She'll wear this ring every day. It must feel good on her finger and it must suit her lifestyle. Sometimes it takes trying on many, many diamond shapes and setting styles to determine which ring is truly "best."

But you still want to go it alone, don't you? Maybe because you want to surprise her with the engagement ring, or because you don't want her to be involved with pricing and payment issues. That's fine--if you put some thought into it you can buy an engagement ring that she'll love almost as much as she loves you.

Number 1: Pay Attention!

Paying attention to her jewelry likes and dislikes is the first big step towards finding her the perfect engagement ring:

What metal color does she wear now? Most women have a definite preference. If she loves white gold or platinum, don't even look at a diamond or other stone mounted in a yellow gold ring setting.

What style of jewelry does she wear now? Is it contemporary-looking, with bold styling? Does she prefer vintage looking rings? Or would you say that the jewelry she wears is classic, resembling those timeless pieces that never go out of style?

The best indication of her tastes is the jewelry she wears all the time, not items she only wears occasionally, because it's the full-timers that she's most comfortable with.

Number 2: Has She Hinted at her Likes and Dislikes?

Has she ever mentioned her favorite jewelry styles or pointed out engagement rings when you're shopping together? If not, take her shopping. It isn't difficult to steer yourselves towards the jewelry stores. If you want to be subtle, say you're looking for a new watch, but be sure to pause at the engagement ring counters.

Maybe she has a friend who recently became engaged. Does she like her friend's engagement ring? Why or why not?

Does she like diamonds? Some women don't. Sapphires and rubies are both durable gemstones that are often set into engagement rings for women who don't like to wear diamonds.

Number 3: What Looks Best on Her Hands?

An elongated diamond, such as a marquise or oval, can make short fingers look more sleek--but be careful not to overdo the look or it could have the opposite effect.

Wide bands usually make fingers appear even shorter than they are, so think proportional:

Women with long fingers can easily wear bold ring styles.

A setting that's extremely delicate could get lost on large hands, over-emphasizing their size and making the ring look smaller.

Number 4: Choose the Right Shape & Setting

Round diamonds are the number one shape chosen by brides, but maybe not your bride. She might prefer an elongated marquise, oval or pear-shaped stone, or an square or emerald cuthearts, are another option. diamond. Fancier shapes, such as

Do you think she'd like a solitaire diamond, set alone in a band, or would she prefer a cluster of stones? Her current jewelry can give you clues about her preferences.

Number 5: Consider her Lifestyle

How will the ring fit in with her lifestyle? Does she work in a profession where fussy jewelry would look out of place? Even if she doesn't, remember that a pointed gem with high prongs could snag clothing (and people) and is harder to keep clean. Save that type of ring for gifts that will be worn on special occasions, not every day.

Number 6: What's her Ring Size?

Does she have rings that she wears on her engagement finger? Maybe a friend or family member could get hold of one of them long enough for you to have it sized. Of course, you'll have to swear the messenger to secrecy.

Number 7: Consider a Loose Diamond

If you think you know which shape she loves, buy a loose diamond to show her when you ask the big question. The two of you can shop together later for the perfect engagement ring setting.

Now that you have a better feel for the style of ring she might prefer, it's time to consider the diamonds that will go into it. Start with this web as U'r Guide, then take some time to browse other topics in jewelry4gifts.

Number 8: Consider Your Budget

Your engagement ring budget is a top consideration. Don't stress if your budget is tight, because you can buy an affordable engagement ring. There are lots of excellent options, from solitaires to rings with multiple diamonds or other gems. [ taken from http://jewelry.about.com/ ]

Ball Gown Elegant Formal Prom Dress

Ball Gown Strapless Formal Prom Wedding Dress

This beautiful dress arrived on time, the only thing I wished I would have paid more attention to was the fact they mentioned dresses are smaller than regular department store dresses and my daughter bought a 4 instead of a 6 so we had to make a mad dash to the tailors and she was on a wrestler's diet for a week. It was absolutely stunning though! Thank you so much!
